Chili is a Chinchilla. He was born in June 2013 and came to us at the clinic in Aug of 2013. Chinchillas need to take dust baths a few times a week to keep their soft coat clean and healthy. The dust absorbs the dirt and oil in their fur. They do not bathe in water because their fur is so thick, it prevents air-drying. They are also jumpers! He will jump between his houses, as well as run on his wheel for exercise. Chili is nocturnal, which means he is most active during the night, and sleeps during the day. Chili is not as social as Stan-lee but if you have an evening appointment you will get to see him jumping around and playing through the window.
