Our Veterinary Team in Hagersville
Dr. Neil Gowan
Raised in the welcoming town of Hagersville, Dr. Neil Gowan has always appreciated the close-knit feel of a small community. Growing up around Hagersville Veterinary Services and caring for his family’s pets helped shape his passion for veterinary medicine from an early age. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College with a special interest in surgery and dentistry. After several years of practice in Stoney Creek, he returned home and proudly purchased the clinic from his father in 2015. Today, he enjoys working alongside him and continues the family tradition of offering attentive, compassionate care to every patient.
Dr. Gowan values the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients and their pets, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and supported throughout each stage of their pet’s life. When he’s not at the clinic, he can be found spending time with his children, Ethan and Hazel, and their energetic dogs, Sybil, Liza, Jake, and Stormy. He loves being outdoors and keeps active by hiking, camping, kayaking, cycling, playing tennis, and rock climbing.
Dr. Janice de St. Croix
Dr. Janice de St. Croix earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1994. For 27 years, she served pets and their families in the Oakville and Burlington communities before joining Hagersville Veterinary Services in October 2023. She is grateful to now be part of a team that values building strong relationships and taking the time to provide thoughtful, individualized care.
Originally from Cayuga, Dr. Janice is happy to be practicing closer to home and getting to know the pets and people of the region. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys being outdoors — whether she’s spending time by the Grand River, exploring nature, or watching her favourite sports. She also loves relaxing at home with her pet, Brian.
Andreea
Originally from Romania, Andreea completed her veterinary degree before moving to Canada and joining the Hagersville Veterinary Services team as a veterinary technician. With a strong passion for patient care, she takes great pride in supporting pets through every stage of their visit — whether she’s assisting in surgery, taking radiographs, or helping clients better understand their pet’s health needs.
Andreea has a special interest in reproductive care and is always happy to share her knowledge, as she and her husband breed and train German Shepherds. Outside of work, she cherishes time spent with her family, especially enjoying the outdoors with her daughter and their beloved dogs.
Brianna
Brianna joined the Hagersville Veterinary Services team in April 2015 after graduating from Ridgetown College in 2009. With a deep passion for animal welfare, she is dedicated to ensuring every pet receives the same compassion and attention she gives her own. As both a Registered Veterinary Technician and Practice Manager, she values building trusting relationships with clients and making their visits as comfortable and supportive as possible.
Originally from Beamsville, Brianna now enjoys a busy and joyful home life with her two dogs, Memphis and Tex, and four cats: Forrest, Pip, Dexter, and Oliver. Outside the clinic, she loves spending time with her husband and sons, hiking local trails, reading a good book, and being with family and friends.
Lisa
Lisa joined Hagersville Veterinary Services in June 2017 and is the friendly face who welcomes every client through the door. After working in human healthcare, she discovered her true passion in the veterinary field, where she enjoys supporting both pets and the people who love them. Lisa takes pride in creating a warm, comfortable experience for clients and is especially compassionate in helping families navigate difficult times when saying goodbye to their beloved companions.
Originally from Milton, Lisa has always shared her life with animals. She enjoys spending time at home with her toy poodle, Sawyer, and her cat, Ace. Outside of work, she loves reading, going for walks, and enjoying quality time with her husband and son.
Sarah
Sarah first joined Hagersville Veterinary Services during her co-op placement at Sheridan College in late 2017. After graduating in 2019, she became a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician and has been an important part of the team ever since. With a strong background in customer service, she is dedicated to creating a positive and supportive experience for every client, while providing attentive and gentle care for their pets.
Growing up in Jarvis, Sarah spent her childhood helping her parents run their boarding kennel, which sparked her lifelong love of animals. At home, she enjoys every moment with her pets — Ginger, Duncan, Flora, Jax, and Gigi. Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time with her boyfriend, catching a good movie, going to the gym, reading, and playing softball.
Janice
Janice joined Hagersville Veterinary Services in January 2020 and quickly became a comforting presence for pets during their visits. As both an Animal Care Attendant and a member of the reception team, she enjoys helping ensure every client and patient feels supported from the moment they arrive. After studying at McMaster University and Mohawk College and working in several local businesses, she realized that her true passion is caring for animals — something she has loved since childhood.
Born and raised in Hagersville, Janice grew up helping her mom with a Himalayan cattery, which sparked her deep love for pets. Today, she proudly embraces her role as the clinic’s “crazy cat lady,” sharing her home with a lively crew of cats and dogs — and even a few goats. When she isn’t cuddling her pets, she enjoys tending to her vegetable garden, batch cooking, and building creative catios and playgrounds for her furry family.
